Would you like to know if you are hearing God’s voice or your own voice?

Would you like more confidence and direction in these confusing times?

Many of us are experiencing confusion from conflicting “news” reports, deception in advertising, and even doubt in what Bible teachers and pastors are saying. I mean, who can we believe these days?

The most important thing right now …

… is to hear God’s voice. He is our Creator and Sustainer. He has promised to lead and guide us. He has promised that we will hear His voice. I am experiencing the more I press in to hear God’s voice, the more I am sensing His leadership. So, let’s get practical and learn what we can do to partner with God for clarity and confidence.

Romans 15:4 For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope. NIV

2 Timothy 3:16 16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness New American Standard Bible 1995

Yes, the Bible is key. Don’t tune me out yet. Some of us may feel we have already tried to understand the Bible and just don’t get it. We may think there is nothing in this article that could help.

Here is my promise to you

In the next few weeks, I’m going to put five keys into your hands that will change everything. The Bible is God’s written Word. It is our plumbline to evaluate what we sense He is saying to us today. (If you are already comfortable with the Bible and hearing God’s voice, these keys will be helpful for you to share with others. Keys are great!)

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. NKJV

His Written Word – The Bible

The Bible is a phenomenal gift from our Creator and Lord. As we mentioned above, His written Word is our way of evaluating what we sense He is saying to us today. The five keys we will look at will help unlock our understanding.

These keys will:

  • help us get a big picture of what each part of the Bible means and get a better understanding of how to approach it.
  • help us learn to love God with all our heart, soul, strength, and mind.
  • Help us understand and apply what we read.

We’ll start unpacking these keys next time. Until then I have an invitation for you. Consider the following questions and talk to God.

Your turn

  • Lord, do You want to reveal more to me?
  • Have I given up trying or settled for the amount of revelation I have now?
  • Do I really believe You can help me?
  • What do I really want?

Dancing on His Path with joy,

P.S. I would love to hear from you. What questions do you have for God about hearing His voice?
