So heavenly minded, finally we are some earthly good

We have all heard the phrase, “So heavenly minded they are no earthly good.”  What about this phrase instead, “So heavenly minded that we are finally some earthly good.”  What if living our days seeking first God’s kingdom, drawing so near to Him that we don’t try to fight for our own good, but His!  What about asking, “God how are you doing?” instead of asking, “how am I doing?”

I am taking more rests and absorbing what I have been reading and learning before going on to the next thing.  I am seeing how important the life tests are to what I am trying to learn. The trials are like labs I took in my science classes in University.  The lecture class is only one component, an important component, but only one piece of the class.  Unless I take the time to absorb the lecture class, I won’t understand what to do during the lab.   When I take the time to meditate on Him and let Him work truth in me – I am better equipped for the test.  Otherwise, I am only picking up information.

Col 3:1 Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. 2 Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. 3 For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory. NLT
